Employment growth in information technology is projected to exceed 20% in the next decade, according to Hanover Research data. To meet this industry demand and provide individuals with opportunities to expand their careers and earning potential, University of Jamestown (UJ) has launched its newest advanced degree, the Master of Science in Information Technology Leadership (MSITL).

The degree is designed not only to scale knowledge but also to cultivate ethical, transformational leaders who can revolutionize their organizations and communities through the integration of computing excellence and visionary leadership.

Developed by Dr. Jakob Barnard, UJ Dean of Undergraduate Academic Affairs and Associate Professor and Chair of Computing, Design, and Communication, the MSITL program offers a comprehensive curriculum that blends advanced technical expertise with essential transformational leadership skills. Students will gain proficiency in areas such as strategic IT management, data-driven decision-making, innovation and change management, and ethical considerations in technology leadership.

“It is our mission at UJ and with this program to empower professionals with the skills and vision needed to lead innovation, drive digital transformation, and make a lasting impact in their organizations and communities,” said Barnard.
