Reginald Boykin, Jr. (’13) Honored
On January 30, 2018, The Beaumont Police Department presented a “Life Saving Award” to Officer Reginald Boykin, Jr (’13) at the 2017 Chief’s Appreciation Reception: A Celebration of Grace, Guts and Gratitude.
Life Saving Awards are issued to officers who take actions that demonstrate unusual heroism, skill or bravery.
Officer Boykin received the award for using quick thinking when, on May 1, 2017, he discovered a man who suffered from a stab wound to the neck. Officer Boykin immediately applied and maintained direct pressure to the wound until Beaumont EMS arrived. His actions contributed to the welfare and saving of the man’s life.
