University of Jamestown was always on my mind when deciding where I wanted to attend college. Growing up in Devils Lake, ND, I always knew that a big university, in a big town wasn’t for me. When I toured UJ, that was it. I knew that I would become a Jimmie!

Softball

I decided that I was going to UJ before playing college softball was an option. I can remember the first time Coach Gall called me. I was excited I was going to have the opportunity to play college softball while going to school. Coach Gall stayed in touch with me throughout my senior year, and that just reassured me that I was choosing the right school.

Academics

The academic success of the University was also another reason I chose UJ. I liked that the class sizes were small and that you would have a more personalized education. You get to know your professors, and they get to know you.

Organizations

I have also been involved in a number of organizations in my years at UJ. In addition to softball, I have been involved in Character in Leadership, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Alpha Chi. I’ve learned so much about myself as an individual, teacher, and leader in these organizations. I also had the opportunity to volunteer around the community for a variety of different organizations.

Friendships

In the last four years, I have met some amazing people and built some great friendships. I can remember before school started my freshman year, Coach Gall told me that I would be rooming with Meghan Ramage. I am so grateful that he paired us together because she became one of my best friends.

I’ve also made a lot of new friends through softball. My teammates have been there for me no matter what, and I am grateful for each one of them. I consider them part of my family and am glad I had the chance to play softball with them.

A place in my heart

I am truly grateful for my time at UJ and memories I have made. I want to thank my family for their continued support over the years. I also want to thank my teammates and Coach Gall for supporting and believing in me. UJ will forever hold a special place in my heart.
