Growth Through Service
The past four years at UJ have been an amazing journey. I have grown so much into the person I am today because of the influences and experiences I have had here.
Growing as a servant leader
One of the most amazing transformations I have undergone is my growth as a leader. University of Jamestown has helped shape me into a servant leader while offering me incredible opportunities to serve.
I have served the people of Flint, Michigan by travelling with a team of fellow students to bring water to those in need. I have served around the community of Jamestown at Orphan Grain Train, Community Action Food Shelf, and nursing homes through the Leadership program. I have also been able to serve abroad in Chogoria, Kenya helping teach children and teens about health practices while providing them with free care.
Making service a career
All of these opportunities have not only changed my character but the course of my life. I now plan to attend Hamline University next fall to begin another journey, my Master’s in Non-Profit Management.
I want to continue serving others for the rest of my life, and I am forever grateful that UJ gave me a passion for serving others. I will never forget all of the opportunities and all of the people that helped make me who I am today.
