Daniel Stenberg(’05) Hired by McKenzie County
Daniel Stenberg has recently been hired by McKenzie County as its Economic Development Coordinator. A native of Watford City, he previous worked as a labor market information research analyst for Job Service North Dakota; staff assistant at the Federal Reserve Board and as manager of regional initiatives for the Midwestern Governors Association.
“I am really excited by the prospect of being a part of our county’s economic development efforts. Obviously Watford City and McKenzie County have undergone a lot of changes since I grew up here, and much has been done in the past few years to bring the infrastructure up to speed. I want to continue those efforts as well as focus on quality of life issues so that we make sure newcomers and old-timers continue to choose to make this their home.”
Stenberg adds: “I enjoyed growing up here in McKenzie County and I want to make sure it remains an excellent place to not only find a job, but experience quality of life.”
Stenberg holds bachelor of art degrees in Business Administration and History/Political Science from the University of Jamestown. In 2015, he moved back to Watford City to direct the Pioneer Museum and Heritage Park. He is a Class VII member of Rural Leadership North Dakota, farmers’ market manager for Watford Market, board member of the Long X Arts Foundation, member of Watford City Chamber of Commerce, and member of Watford City Young Professionals.
