How We Compile Crime Statistics

We collect reports from local law enforcement agencies, local law enforcement agencies for locations that we take temporary control of (under the definitions of Clery), Campus Security Authorities (CSA), Crime Reports, and Anonymous Crime Reports. We use this information to correctly count and report crime statistics to the Department of Education.

Clery Crime Definitions

Clery requires that we classify and count and report on Clery crimes. to the Department of Education. At times, Clery crime definitions may not fully match North Dakota criminal code. Please note that all crimes are included in the Daily Crime Log.

Daily Crime Log and Daily Fire Log

The Daily Crime Log and Daily Fire Log are combined and contain a list of all crimes that have occurred in the last 60 days on the Main Campus and Fargo Campus. The Daily Fire Log contains a list of all fires that have occurred on the Main Campus in the last 60 day. The disposition provides information on what has taken place with the crime or fire.
