Faculty
The University of Jamestown School of Nursing is seeking to hire an open rank faculty position for the BSN program. Course assignments vary according to program needs and faculty’s area of expertise. The position is on a full-time, 9-month contract and requires a physical presence. This is not a remote position. This position will begin August 2025.
Minimum Requirements: Faculty must have a minimum of a master’s degree from an accredited institution. If a master’s degree is in a discipline other than nursing, the faculty member must submit evidence of acceptable graduate level coursework in nursing, which includes learning principles for adult education, nursing curriculum development, administration, and evaluation. A minimum of five years’ experience in nursing and a current unencumbered nursing license in the state of North Dakota, or the ability to obtain licensure is required.
Preferred Requirements:
+ Preference given to applicants with current experience in mental health &/or maternal/child health &/or teaching experience at the college/university level.
+ ACLS/PALS certification, or willingness to obtain, is a plus.
Responsibilities: Didactic teaching for on-campus undergraduate nursing courses, lab instruction, and leading clinical experiences in the community setting is required.
As directed by the NDBON, program faculty must:
- Plan, implement, evaluate, and update the program and curriculum using a written plan;
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and update policies for student admission, progression, retention, and graduation in keeping with the policies of the sponsor institution;
- Participate in academic advisement and guidance of students;
- Provide theoretical instruction and practice experiences;
- Select, monitor, and evaluate preceptors and the student learning experience as defined in section 54-03.2-04-07;
- Evaluate student achievement of curricular outcomes related to nursing knowledge and practice;

The University of Jamestown is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Digital Services Librarian who will develop, coordinate, and deliver information literacy instruction and manage digital resources to support the university community’s academic and research needs, reporting to the Director of Libraries. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and flexible individual with expertise in both the instructional and technical aspects of librarianship. This full-time, 12-month role holds faculty status (Instructor or Assistant Professor) and is located in Jamestown, ND. One evening a week (6pm-10pm) and occasional travel to the University of Jamestown’s Fargo, ND, site will be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages and provides access to digital resource collections, including database products, licenses, user authentication software, and relevant areas of the library’s integrated library system (ILS).
- Manages technical data and account integrity for the library’s collection of digital resources, including in collaboration with campus IT, vendor/content providers’ technical staff, and statewide and regional consortia to which the UJ Libraries belong.
- Participates in the UJ Libraries’ information literacy instruction program including
- Developing and delivering information literacy instruction sessions and workshops to students and faculty.
- Collaborating with faculty to integrate information literacy into the curriculum.
- Teaching sections of the library’s 1-credit research skills course.
- Provides research help and reference services to the UJ community, especially students and faculty.
- Creates and maintains online guides, tutorials, and other instructional materials.
Other Duties:
- Provides expertise in identifying, evaluating, recommending, and implementing new and emerging technologies that support the library’s mission.
- Collaborates with faculty and instructional designers to support open educational resources.

Core Faculty Position Responsibilities:
The position is a 12-month full-time commitment. As a core faculty member, teaching, scholarship and service are required. Teaching includes course development, primary instruction, team-teaching, and participation in curricular meetings. Teaching responsibilities will be based on areas of expertise, interest, and program needs. Areas of experience preferred for this position include orthopedics or pediatrics.
Enhancing the profession through participation in research is required. Mentoring in the development of an active scholarly research agenda will be provided.
Service is also required and may include service to the university, the program, the profession and the community. Faculty members are allowed to maintain some clinical hours to maintain clinical expertise.

The University of Jamestown is seeking a broadly trained chemist to serve as a full-time
faculty member in the Department of Natural Science. The position is scheduled to begin
in the fall of 2025.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching general chemistry and have the
opportunity to teach other courses related to their interests and expertise. These could
include non-majors courses, and/or upper-level courses in inorganic, physical or
analytical chemistry. This is a 9-month position with 24 contact hours each academic

The University of Jamestown is looking for a registered nurse who is interested in nursing education, simulation, and skills lab while looking for life balance that offers no evenings/nights, no call, no holidays, and a limited summertime commitment to spend more time enjoying our short North Dakota summers.
This position will coordinate the effective and efficient operation of the nursing simulation lab in conjunction with the nursing faculty. This role will oversee the operation of high, medium, and low fidelity technology while ensuring safe and effective use of simulation equipment to create meaningful, educational experiences for nursing students.
This is a full-time, 12-month position eligible for the University of Jamestown benefit package. There is also the possibility for tuition reimbursement towards the attainment of a Master of Science (MSN) in Nursing Education after one year of employment and at the discretion of the University of Jamestown Administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment set-up and breakdown includes setting up simulators, task trainers, hospital equipment, supplies, and audiovisual equipment.
- Performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting of simulation equipment
- Assisting faculty with the implementation of virtual clinical medical scenarios.
- Programming scenarios into software, including physiological changes and anticipated interventions.
- Administration and operation of learning/center management systems to record simulations, manage case information, collect faculty and standardized patient evaluations, track learner hours, and report on center data and utilization.

Unruh School of Character in Leadership
The University of Jamestown seeks a dynamic and innovative leader to serve as the Director of the Center for Leadership Development at the Unruh School of Character in Leadership (USCIL). This role involves collaborating with the USCIL Executive Director to design and build a robust, innovative leadership development center providing non-traditional leadership training for individuals, organizations, and communities. Staff
The University of Jamestown seeks a detail-oriented, organized, and motivated Assistant Registrar. The Assistant Registrar performs a variety of tasks in the Registrar’s office related to student schedules and registration, maintenance of academic records, responding to inquiries from students and University personnel, and implementation of University academic policies. This is a dynamic position that includes both frequent communication with others and independent work.
Primary responsibilities include:
Maintain the Student Information System institutional catalog and advising system.
- Review/update course information in accordance with the University catalog
- Maintain program requirements in the advising system to accurately track student progress toward degree
- Update student degree audits to capture course substitutions/waivers
- Problem-solve technical errors related to advising/student degree audits
- Perform annual audit of course/program information in the University SIS to ensure accuracy of advising system
Track and process student academic petitions, directed study requests, and grade changes.

Position Tracks:
This assistantship offers two tracks for a graduate student to choose from: the Administrative Track or the Teaching Track. Each track provides specialized experience, preparing graduate students for specific professional roles within academia or administration. The Graduate Assistant for the Office of Admissions is a 30/hr per week position, with expected work hours of 9:00am-3:00pm daily. After three months of on-boarding, this position will also be responsible for covering one Saturday every six weeks.
This position reports to the Assistant Director of Admissions but will work in support of all Admissions staff. After a period of onboarding, the GA may be tasked with the training and oversight of work study students.
Daily tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Data entry into Admissions software
- Giving campus tours (only when student tour guides are unavailable)
- Meeting with prospective students and their families
- Processing and proofreading daily mailings such as acceptance packets
- Assisting the Director of International Admissions in replying to or otherwise process online communications and inquiries
- At least one special project per semester. The GA will be given the chance to assist in an event, promotion, or recurring task of their interest and choosing with support from senior staff
This position may also include occasional travel to college fairs and high school visits. This travel would take place between September-November and March-April and would always be under the direction of the territory’s Admission Counselor.
