University of Jamestown ace Jerome Byndloss bested Mayville State No. 1 Kody Rock in a 3-2 win to give coach Tom Hager his 600th coaching win.

“It was a great college baseball game,” UJ head coach Tom Hager said. “We were thankful to come out on the winning end.”

“This is a quality team we’re facing. When you make mistakes, they make you pay.” Hager said.

“It was two really good pitchers going at it,” Hager said. “Both teams were trying to scratch out runs and luckily we were able to get it done when we needed to.”

“I loved how aggressive we were … we hit the ball out of the yard a few times, but it wasn’t enough,” Hager said. “It’s two really good baseball teams going at it.”

Coach Hager earned his Bachelor of Arts from UJ in 1996, majoring in Physical Education and History/Political Science.
